What Our Customers Say
"I really love this shop. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a surprising amount of stock as they also have things stored downstairs. So if you do not see it, It is alwayS worth asking staff if they have it in stock. I went in to get items to sort out my moth problem and came out with lots of gardening items too"
"Small but well stocked hardware shop. Staff are *very* helpful. Wonderful to still be able to have a shop like that in town instead of having to "travel" to shopping centres on the outskirts of Edinburgh. If you don't own a car it's painful."
"Brilliant shop. They have everything. Needed a charger and a cable and they had a variety in stock. I am always pleased to support local shops with my cash rather then go to the larger chain store or shop online. Helpful and nice staff. Fantastic!"

Meet the Team
As a small independent business, we understand the value of a face-to-face service. A bit of chit chat, a conversation, an understanding of what our customers are looking for. We are happy to spend time discussing solutions with you. Our service is always with a smile.
We have a fantastic team of thirteen staff who are ready to serve.
Houseproud Of Morningside Ltd, Edinburgh
Established in 1984. Our founder, John Williamson took the opportunity at the age of 55 to start his own business, something he had dreamed of all his life.
After 10 years of business, John retired and his son Philip and wife Anne took over the shop. Sadly in 2006 Philip passed away very suddenly. Anne continues to run the business and uses her background experience in administration, finance, IT and business development to make it all possible.
Scotland Loves Local
The Scotland Loves Local campaign encourages everyone in Scotland to think local first and support their High Streets. Our small businesses - whether a pub, café, butcher, or hardware store - are the lifeblood of our communities.
They take risks every day to create jobs and prosperity. Whether it's a set of screws, a tin of paint, or a piece of garden furniture - choosing local keeps money in the Edinburgh community.
