The My Mat Coir Border Mat (45x75cm) is a versatile and durable doormat designed to enhance your home’s cleanliness and aesthetic appeal. Made from 100% natural coconut husk fibres, this mat is both eco-friendly and hard-wearing, making it an excellent choice for indoor and outdoor use.
Material and Construction
- The primary material used in the Mat is coir, derived from coconut husk. Coir is known for its durability and natural scraping properties, making it ideal for trapping dirt and mud from shoes before they enter your home. The mat is backed with eco-friendly latex, which not only provides additional durability but also ensures that the mat stays in place, reducing the risk of slipping.
Design and Aesthetics
- The Mat features a simple yet elegant border design that can complement a variety of home decors. The natural brown colour of the coir fibres is accented by the border, adding a touch of sophistication to your entryway. The mat measures 45 x 75cm, making it a perfect fit for most doorways without being too bulky.
Functionality
- One of the standout features of the Coir Border Mat is its functionality. The coarse texture of the coir fibres effectively scrapes off dirt, mud, and debris from shoes, ensuring that your floors remain clean. This is particularly useful during rainy or snowy seasons when mud and moisture are more likely to be tracked into the house. The mat’s ability to trap dirt also helps in reducing the amount of cleaning required inside the home.
Maintenance
- Maintaining the Mat is relatively easy. Due to the natural shedding of coir fibres, especially in the first few months of use, it is recommended to brush or shake the mat regularly to keep it looking its best. For outdoor use, it is advisable to place the mat in a sheltered area to avoid direct contact with water, which can prolong its lifespan. Spot cleaning with a brush can help remove stubborn dirt and stains.
Environmental Impact
- The Mat is an eco-friendly option for those looking to reduce their environmental footprint. Coir is a renewable resource, and the use of natural latex for backing further enhances the mat’s eco-friendly credentials. By choosing a coir mat, you are supporting sustainable practices and reducing the reliance on synthetic materials.
Versatility
- This mat is not only suitable for use at the front door but can also be used in various other areas of the home. It can be placed in the kitchen, back door, or even in the garage to keep these areas clean. Its hard-wearing nature makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, ensuring that it remains functional and attractive for a long time.
The Coir Border Mat is a practical, durable, and eco-friendly choice for anyone looking to keep their home clean and welcoming. Its natural coir fibres, backed with eco-friendly latex, provide excellent dirt-trapping capabilities while being easy to maintain. The elegant border design and versatile size make it a perfect addition to any home, whether used indoors or outdoors. By choosing this mat, you are not only enhancing the cleanliness of your home but also supporting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices
