Need a tough, clear varnish for indoor woodwork? Ronseal Ultra Tough Satincoat Varnish in clear gives a rich, clear and mellow finish with tough polyurethane protection, and this 750ml tin is a sensible size for furniture, shelves and trim. Ronseal describe it as perfect for wood that is used a lot, protecting against chemicals, water and heat while bringing out the natural beauty of the wood. Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
It is for interior wood only, and not for flooring. Ronseal list a two hour dry time, six hours between coats and three coats in total, applied by brush in the direction of the grain. Before you start, remove wax, oil and grease with white spirit, then sand with 120 grit sandpaper to smooth the surface and take off any cracked or peeling areas. Once the varnish is fully dry, clean the wood normally and remove any dirt or grit that could damage the finish. A great value choice when you want hard wearing protection on busy indoor wood.
