Stranraer Hardware Store
Home & Gardens opened for business in the early 1970’s and immediately became popular with local residents and trades people for the friendly service and range of stock provided. From humble beginnings, the shop expanded and developed within the initial premises at 84 George Street until the early 2000’s when adjacent premises were purchased to expand the available floor space.
During the 2000’s, the business continued to develop and expand and joined the Home Hardware group in 2008 widening further the range of products on offer to customers. Today the business offers a total of 10,000sq ft of sales space and employs 16 staff.
Home & Gardens remains an independent retailer and continues to offer the same friendly, helpful service as the original shop. It enjoys the same loyal support from a wide range of customers and remains a cornerstone of the local economy.

What Our Customers Say
"Hi Mr McColm I had to let you know of the excellent customer service i received from Ann the other day. I'm 72 years with one dodgie foot and i'd had a bad morning. Ann was so helpful, she just made me feel as if i wasn't a problem, which i was! Great sales lady and excellent customer service. I bought two pair of boots which fit me due to Ann's patience. Thank you. Well done you for employing her."

They take risks every day to create jobs and prosperity. Whether it's a set of screws, a tin of paint, or a piece of garden furniture - choosing local keeps money in the Stranraer community.
