Paint mixing is a service that allows paint to be tinted to a specific colour using professional in-store paint mixing equipment. Colour pigments are carefully measured and added to a base paint to create the selected shade.
This gives you access to a much wider choice of colours than standard ready-mixed paint and makes it easier to find the right shade for your walls, ceilings, woodwork or other decorating projects.
Whether you are refreshing a single room, decorating a whole house or looking for a particular colour, selected Home Hardware stores can help you find and mix paint to suit your project.
What paint colours can be mixed?
Participating stores can mix a wide range of paint colours, from popular neutrals and traditional shades to brighter and more contemporary colours.
Depending on the paint mixing system available in your local store, you may be able to choose from:
- Thousands of paint colours and shades
- Interior wall and ceiling colours
- Matt, silk and other popular paint finishes
- Popular colour collections and paint ranges
- Made-to-order tinted paint
Paint brands, colour ranges, tin sizes and finishes vary between stores, so please contact your chosen Home Hardware store directly if you are looking for a particular product or colour.
Can you colour match paint?
Some participating stores may offer paint colour matching or have access to extensive colour libraries through their in-store paint mixing system.
This can help if you are trying to find a colour similar to an existing shade, match paint to your decorating scheme or find an alternative within a particular paint range.
Colour matching facilities vary between stores, so contact the store directly before visiting if colour matching is important for your project.
