Ronseal quote coverage of up to 16m² per litre and recommend three coats, brushed on in the direction of the grain with six hours between coats. For wood that is already stained or varnished, sand with 120 grit sandpaper in circular motions, then wipe with white spirit and a cloth. New wood needs a light sand with 120 grit and a wipe clean. Sand lightly between coats, especially before the third, for a smoother finish. Brushes wash out in warm, soapy water, and once dry the door can be cleaned normally.
